1. Does it matter where a Virtual Assistant is located? No! Everything is done through technology. Fax, mail, phone, courier, instant messenger, and email. So a Virtual Assistant can do work for a client any where in the United States and even out of the country.
2. Why do people hire a Virtual Assistant instead of an Employee?Virtual Assistants are only paid for their time that they spend on your projects and tasks. Also additional supplies that you would need such as paper, ink, and postage. Their are many cost saving benefits to having a Virtual Assistant instead of an employee. You never pay for any down time, no taxes, no holiday pay, no additional office equipment, no sick days, and no insurance. Virtual Assistants are Independent Contractors they are responsible for their own benefits and taxes.
3. Is the Client obligated to use a Virtual Assistant for a certain length of time? No! I have clients that are one-time projects, short-term projects, and long-term projects. It depends on what your needs are? It depends on what the projects and tasks are? Some times a client of mine will be with me for 6 months and then don't need the services anymore. Than in a few months they call me or email me because they have a special project or need additional help with their work load.
4. How do I know the work is being completed? This is the biggest question I get asked. It is if the deadlines are being met. Also the projects and tasks are being delivered on time. The work is satisfactory to you as the client. I have been in this business since 2003 and have never had a problem out of a client with my work being satisfactory. It is just as if you had someone working right in the office with you every day. You delegate the work and you look for results. When the projects and tasks are being completed and the work load is easier on you than you know that a Virtual Assistant is working out.
5. How am I billed?
You negotiate a rate by the hour with the Virtual Assistant. Than the
rate by the hour is broken down into 15 minute increments. That is how
you are never charged for down time on projects and tasks.
